Our Flagship Program

Pediatric cancer is one of the ten leading causes of death among children in India. While global cure rates for pediatric cancer reach 80%, in India, systemic challenges result in only 30–40% of children surviving. Each year, 40,000 new cases of childhood and adolescent cancers are recorded, adding to the staggering 200,000 existing cases. Poor infrastructure, lack of awareness, and widespread poverty often leave families struggling to access critical care when it is needed most.

Our Mission:

Janarakshita is dedicated to bridging these gaps through holistic, patient-focused interventions. Since 2004, we have provided medical aid and comprehensive support to approximately 2,000 pediatric cancer patients. Our approach combines medical care with emotional, nutritional, and educational support to address every aspect of a child’s well-being during their most vulnerable moments.

The Problem:

Low Survival Rates: Only 30–40% of children with cancer in India survive due to late detection, inadequate treatment, and lack of supportive care.
Overcrowded Healthcare Facilities: Hospitals often lack the capacity to diagnose and treat patients effectively, creating delays and worsening outcomes.
Systemic Barriers: Poverty, malnutrition, and insufficient access to education exacerbate the challenges faced by affected families.
